My rating: 5/5 stars
First off I just found out that this is NOT a duology like I thought but it is a series and the third book comes out in August! WHAT?!? I’m so excited that this quirky group of characters aren’t done with their adventures.
The quirky duo continues in this amazing book! I loved the female characters in the last book and this one was not any different. While Miss Rook is the narrator and gives great insight into the world all of the females in this book are amazing. You have Jenny who is a very odd ghost that is super attached to the material world. Then there is Miss Fuller who is basically the awesomest character ever. She never backs down from anything and is so funny! The guys are amazing also as we get to see Jackaby in his outrageous cap and Charlie who is so sweet if not a little bit oblivious.
I loved this book even more than the first because now that you are kind of used to Jackaby’s crazy tangents it makes it funnier. I also really enjoyed the fact that Ritter kept Jackaby as this asexual like character instead of trying to turn him into a love interest for Abigail.
So much happens in this book and since this is a no spoiler review I don’t want to say too much but it is awesome. The creatures that are introduced are so amazing and different than any mythical thing I have heard of.
Overall this book is wonderful and the group of characters make it so much better. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys quirky characters and weird creatures and learning all about the unexplained.
