Q & A Answered! | Thanks again for 400!

A couple of days ago I posted a small post saying thank you for 400 followers. And truly I mean thank you! Seriously I have never imagined this blog hitting 400 and am amazed everyday by how much it grows. Along with that post I also mentioned that I would do a Q&A. Thank you so much to everyone who gave me questions! I wasn’t sure that anyone would comment but I’m so happy you did. Anyways, let’s get started!!

#1- What is your favorite book and why? (Submitted by musings of a coffee addicted bibliophile)

That’s such a hard question. So I’m going to cheat… kinda. I’ll pick two. This may be obvious because I feel like I mention them in all of my tags but I am in love with the Kingkiller Chronicles and the Shades of Magic series. The first book of the Kingkiller Chronicle is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and honestly I love this series because not only is the world building and story incredible but the author himself is amazing. He works insanely hard to make these books intense and amazing. My other favorite series, Shades of Magic, for which the first book is A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. I have loved this series since release day of ADSOM. I remember rushing to the bookstore and purchasing it, taking it home, and then reading it in one sitting. This series just means a lot to me and I love everything about it. Hopefully it’s okay that I cheated, just a little bit. 🙂 ❤

#2- What is your all time favorite book? If you could be best friends with any book character who would you choose? What made you decide to start blogging? (submitted by misty book space)

Okay so I’ll break this down into each question so it’s a little bit easier 🙂

A) I kinda just answered this one so see above ^

B) Ohhhhh this is also so hard. But if I had to on the spot no hesitation say it would probably be Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic, although Sevro from Red Rising also holds a special place in my heart.

C) So how I started blogging probably isn’t that interesting but I had recently made an instagram and I noticed how so many people had blogs. Once I started looking through them I saw interesting they were and I really wanted to create a place like that. I loved the idea of being able to go back and look at my feelings right when I finished that book vs. how I may feel about that book now.

#3-if you could only take one book with you to a desert island…no just kidding Bc that’s cruel. What’s your fave genre? Like if you reach for a book, what genre do you tend to gravitate toward? (submitted by teacher of ya)

Haha thank you for saving me from the desert island question because honestly I’d have no idea. As for my favorite genre that’s definitely Fantasy. I don’t really know why but it’s something about the world building and the complexity behind that. I feel more connected to an author if it’s a fantasy book because you get to see a world they created rather than just created characters in and I find that incredible.

#4- Which character do you most relate to or find qualities of yourself in? (submitted by bionic bookworm)

Ohh great question. I’d want to say realistically I’m like Cath from Fangirl because she has social anxiety and is pretty similar to me in the whole fangirl world. But if I go with a fantasy book I’d say Sydney from Bloodlines because she may not have a specific “special” thing about her but she has her beliefs and ideals and is able to have open discussions about hard topics without getting defensive which is something that I hope others would say about me.

#5- What was your favorite book that you had to read in school?
& Have you re-read it since? (submitted by jessica marie 493)

My favorite classic which happened to be a book I read in middle school was  A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens and we did then reread it in high school. But my favorite book that I’ve read for the first time in high school is probably Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. That book has a great message and was just something that I found a lot of interest in; however, I still have not reread it so maybe I should do that soon.

#6- what are some of your favourite books you think are under-hyped? 😊 (submitted by the book lagoon)

OOO I have so many so I’ll just list some!

  • Pantomime by Laura Lam
  • The Women in the Walls by Amy Lukavics
  • Rebel Genius by Michael Dante Dimartino
  • Bound by Sarah Bryant
  • Unplugged by Donna Freitas
  • Jackaby by William Ritter
  • Omen Operation by Taylor Brooke
  • Everything You Need to Survive the Apocalypse by Lucas Klaus

Hopefully that’s enough but I’m sure I can think of more that underrated if you want more 🙂

#7-If you went to space and you could take anyone with you who would it be? (submitted by the book raven blog)

Umm well space sounds kind of terrifying and I don’t know that I really would want to go into space. But if I had I’d definitely bring Kady from Illuminae because I feel like she’d be able to get us out any situation that we could face up there.

#8- Also, who would you want to write your biography alive or dead?
What makes you most happy? (submitted by the book raven blog)

A) That’s a great question because I have no idea. I guess it would be amazing to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to write it because I absolutely love her writing style. ❤

B) Normally I would say reading but getting to talk to so many people that I’ve met through the book community is honestly my favorite thing in the world and it makes me so happy to talk with everyone and actually meet some of them.

Thank you to everyone who submitted questions! I am so thankful to have each and every one of you. Hitting 400 was an amazing feat and I’m so happy that I was able to accomplish it.  Love you all! ❤

    Fantasy! Yay!
I couldn’t do it…the desert island question is always so wrong. I mean, I would have at least made it a series so someone wouldn’t go insane reading the same one book over and over and over again, though there is a woman in Australia who can recite all seven of the Harry Potter book by heart. (Little creepy imo)

I can totally relate to you answer for my question!! I didn’t go away to school because of my anxiety. I was just too afraid and knew if I moved away for college I would never succeed because I would be too scared to learn! Congrats again on the big 400!
