This is My Truth Now | Tag Tuesday

It’s Tuesday again and that means it’s time for another tag! I have been lucky enough to be tagged for a couple of tags recently so I’m slowly making my way through them. For this Tuesday I was tagged by @iamsurvivorblog, so thank you so much! What’s so cool about this week’s tag is that it is a book version of Truth or Dare which sounds insanely cool and a little scary. Was anyone else the person who always chose truth?

THE RULES:

The dare given to me was to reread a book that you hate twice this month. Obviously I’m choosing to do the tag because there is no way that I could read Fallen by Lauren Kate 2x this month. Okay now that we have the rules, let’s get started?

QUESTION ONE: You’re on your way to a birthday dinner that your friends have thrown for you. When you arrive, your favorite author is having dinner by himself or herself and asks you to sit with them, before you even see your friends or they see you. You have two choices: (1) You can sit with the author but can’t tell your friends that you’ve abandoned them for three hours, or (2) Meet your friends and lose the only chance you’ll ever have to talk with the author. Pick one or the other — no exceptions or communication to your friends to tell them about the author — and explain why.

I’m probably going to sound like a horrible person but I’m obviously picking dinner with my favorite author. Honestly, I rarely hang out with friends in person because it’s usually stressful so I don’t think my friends would be surprised if I ditched a hangout.

QUESTION TWO: You’ve got an opportunity to spend a few hours alone “in your bedroom” with a character from any book you’ve previously read. The character tells you that (s)he would like to lock the door and spend some alone time with you. What book and character is it, and do you decide to enter the room and lock the door, or tell them you aren’t interested?

Once again, I’m obviously going to go in the room with a character. NOTHING would happen though other than a chance for me to ask a million questions to a favorite character of mine while they are locked in a room. The only question is which character. I think I’d have to say it’s between Kell from the Shades of Magic series or Sevro from the Red Rising Trilogy. Either of those two would be characters that I could see asking a thousand questions to and probably annoying to no end. Kell would probably try escape to a different London while Sevro would just pick the lock and run.

QUESTION THREE: If you could turn any male character from one of your favorite books into a female character (or change a female into a male) in the book or book series, which one and why?

Ooo this one stumped me for a while. Ultimately my answer is that I think it would be really interesting if the Darkling from Shadow and Bone was a girl. It would be really cool to see the Darkling as this dark bad ass female villain.

QUESTION FOUR: What blogger currently on your follower’s list (meaning they follow you too) do you admire the most and why?

That’s so hard to choose because I truly love all of you but I think the one who inspired me most from the beginning is Ashleigh from @afrolicthroughfiction. We first connected on Instagram when I had just created my blog and since then she was always inspiration to continue my blog and I just admire how amazing and beautiful her blog is.

QUESTION FIVE: If you could change any one decision your favorite book character made, what would it be and why?

I don’t think there was any decision that I would change for any character. There are definitely times when I’ve hated the decisions they’ve made but I feel like there’s no way to take back a decision we make and we all learn from mistakes so I don’t think there’s a way I could take back any decision because it would change that character.

QUESTION SIX: If you could pick 1 character from a book and 1 character from a TV show you watch (that is NOT based on a book) to be in a relationship together, who would you choose, and why?

Okay this one is going to sound strange but trust me on it. Victor from Vicious and Tammy #2 from Parks and Rec. Now I know it sounds weird but Victor is this weird anti hero who isn’t exactly “good” and we have Tammy #2 who may be certifiably crazy but for some reason I feel like it could actually work. That or it was cause the downfall of the world.

QUESTION SEVEN: It’s your last day on Earth. As you are about to cross that final finish line, a mysterious shadow appears, giving you a choice: (1) You can go move forward to whatever comes next for you [based on your own spiritual or religious beliefs], or (2) you can become a character in a book series and exist permanently doing whatever that author chooses to do with you in the book. Which do you choose, and if it’s option 2, reveal the book and author.

If I can become Lila from A Darker Shade of Magic then I would be so happy but what happens if V.E. Schwab decides to write a spin off and I die? So maybe I’ll go with option 1? I don’t know so I guess I’m giving a kind of non answer but oh well.

QUESTION EIGHT: If you could steal a pet from someone in any book you’ve read, but had to replace it with a friend’s pet (meaning they wouldn’t ever see their pet again), would you do it?  If so, explain the who and why.

No I don’t think I could do that. All of my friends are obsessed with their pets (as am I) so I couldn’t bring myself to do that.

QUESTION NINE: If you could turn someone from your real life into a character from a book, who from your life, who in the book and why?

Humm I might turn my one friend into Cath from Fangirl because she loves Levi and I can  tell you that she would probably love that.

QUESTION TEN: Post a picture of the cover of a book you read in 2000 and the book you are currently reading now. (Note: if you weren’t alive in 2000, pick the first book you ever read and tell everyone what year it was from).

Okay well in 2000, I was 2 so I probably didn’t read anything other than little picture books so we will skip ahead to the first book I remember reading. Does anyone else remember obsessing over Magic Tree House? I think there were only the first 3 or 4 at my school when I started reading but those were my favorite.

As for my current read, I just received my PageHabit box and in it was The Witch Who Came in From the Cold and so far it’s pretty good! I’m only about 60 pages into this behemoth of a book but I’m looking forward to getting in deeper.

QUESTION ELEVEN: Your favorite character (under 18) needs a place to stay for 3 months and asks you if (s)he could stay in your spare room (yes, you have one for the sake of this question). Who is it and what is the reason (s)he needs to stay with you?

Probably Suzume from The Darkest Minds although I doubt she needs to stay with me other than to escape the craziness that is part of her daily life. But Zu is probably the most bad ass 11 year old that you will ever see in a book.

I’m not creative enough to think of a twelfth question so I’m going to use the one given. 

QUESTION TWELVE: What is one attribute that a favorite character of yours has that you wish you had as well? What character, what attribute and why? (you can change this question when added to your blog, but please let me know your answer to this question in the comments below)

I think I would love to have the wisdom/foresight that Mustang from Red Rising has. She was that character who always tries to think things through from every angle and she was such a great leader because she didn’t enter into things lightly. I think I would love to have that quality.
