August Wrap Up and September TBR

First off I cannot believe August is already over, this month felt like it flew by. I was really not expecting to read much this month with school starting and general life getting in the way but I managed to read 13 books! This was an incredible amount to me and I still have no clue how I managed it. Even though I completed my reading goal of 100 books last month, I’m still keeping track so this puts me at a total of 113 for the year. This is definitely a record reading year for me. Anyways, let’s get into the books I read this month.

wrap-up

The Waking Land by Callie Bates

51NM2oWfMfL._SX333_BO1,204,203,200_This read was from PageHabit’s subscription this month and while I had not heard of it until I received it I really enjoyed the story. It was a unique fantasy and while I had some problems with it I still really liked the story for the main part.

The Dire King by William Ritter

33590221Now this stunning conclusion to a series is one I have been dying to get my hands on and I have to say that I definitely enjoyed this one. If you have not picked up Jackaby (the first book in the series) I highly recommend, especially if you love Sherlock or Doctor Who.

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

8475505I am sad to say that I really did not enjoy this story as much as I hoped. I had heard good things about this series and thought I should give it a try but quickly found out this story was not to my liking.

The Enchantress Returns by Chris Colfer

51CBonoaZNL._AC_UL320_SR220,320_.jpgMy friend and I have been reading this series in honor of the final book being released and I have to say for a middle grade story I have really been enjoying them.

Wings Unseen by Rebecca Gomez Farrell

51kZfg502GL._SX334_BO1,204,203,200_This is a read that I didn’t hate but definitely didn’t love. I had my issues with it but I will say it has strong female representation that helped make me enjoy the story that much more.

Switched by Amanda Hocking

12180581At the urging of a friend I picked up this series and I have to say these are once again my perfect reads if I get in a reading slump. Something about paranormal romances always pull me out of the dreaded slumps and this one definitely did.

Torn by Amanda Hocking

downloadLike I said above this series pulled me out of a slump and managed to become a quick little reading marathon. This one felt more filler but overall still was enjoyable.

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
