Title: Ready Player One
Author: Ernest Cline
Series Status: Standalone
My rating: 5/5 stars
This book contains so many incredible 80s reference that it feels like every page makes a reference. I think normally I would find this to be a bit redundant but because of Cline’s writing it just emphasizes it.
Plus the story itself is so intriguing that I couldn’t help but be hooked. I thought that since I was not a gamer/ I know absolutely nothing about gaming I thought I would feel disjointed from the story but instead I was hooked. Even knowing nothing about gaming you can still get a sense of what the story is talking about and be able to connect to the characters.
I also really enjoyed the entire storyline of the characters having everything online such as friendships that created an interesting connect. The whole story was engaging and left me on the edge of my seat making me want to keep reading to see what happened next. I cannot wait for the release of the movie to see how that ties in to the book.
I received a free copy through Blogging for Books in exchange for a honest review.
Glad you liked this one! Wasn’t it so fun to read! I am nervous but excited for the movie!
