Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag 2018

Since I haven’t posted in a bit I thought that I would start out by posting about all the books I’ve read this year and freaking out about all the books I haven’t read yet.

#1- The best book you’ve read so far this year

This is definitely one of the best books that I’ve read this year. I finally started this series and I cannot wait to read the continuation of it and see what else happens in this world.

#2- Favorite sequel of the year

I don’t know that I would say this was my favorite sequel of the year but since I pretty much hated Graceling and really figured that I would never finish this series I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed Fire and I think that this is by far the best book in this trilogy.

#3- A new release you haven’t read but really want to

Honestly I have no good excuse for not having read this because this book sounds incredible and I have read tons of good reviews for this book but I still haven’t started it yet.

#4- Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

So I was lucky enough to get an arc of this from someone and while I have already read it and LOVED IT! I am dying for the official release because my friend said they are changing the ending and I think adding another 100 pages? I desperately need this hardcover to see what Maniscalco changed from the ARC.

#5- Your biggest disappointment7970273.jpg

Ughhh this book upset me so much! I started Poison Study and as really drawn in to this world and immediately made plans to marathon this nine book series (which I did) but partway through around Sea Glass this series really shifted and I tried to stick with it but this book made me really dislike it. I can’t say much without spoilers but I was so upset that this didn’t live up to the other books.

#6- Biggest surprise of the year

Now this wasn’t that big of a surprise because I had heard many good things but I never really think to pick up Holly Black’s books even though I always seem to enjoy them. I finally picked this one up so I am more surprised that I read a book of hers since I rarely do that.

I  read my first A.C. Gaughen book this year and I am in love with her writing so I am going to have to pick up anything else she’s written because I really loved it.

#8- Your new fictional crush

This sounds horrible but I cannot think of any new fictional crush from a book I read this year.

#9- New favorite character

Uhh definitely Vin but also pretty much every other character from this series because they are all my favorites now since I am obsessed with this series.

#10- A book that made you cry

I told myself I wouldn’t repeat books but here I am using this book for the third time… so seriously if you haven’t read this series yet you need to.

#11- A book that made you happy

I grew up on this movie as a kid and always hated that I never read the book but I found an anniversary edition in a thrift store and couldn’t resist it. I am so glad I bought it because it is just as amazing as the movie was.

#12- You’re favorite book to movie adaptation this year

#13- Favorite book post you’ve done this year

Honestly I haven’t posted much for me to pick one so I’m skipping this question.

#14- The most beautiful book you have bought/received this year

Despite how much I hated this book I really loved this cover and in person this is beautiful! It has black sprayed edges and is overall a stunning cover even though I ended up truly disliking the actual story.

#15- What are some books you need to read by the end of the year

I need to finish this series!!!

So that’s the tag! I am going to put a photo of every book that I have read so far this year since I’ve read quite a bit so you can see which books I chose in this tag.
