February 2017 Anticipated Releases

It’s time for another round of anticipated releases! A couple of these I have been waiting for literately forever for so I am so happy that it will just be a number of days before I can have some of them. Let’s get started!

A girl thirsts for love and knowledge.
Abi is a servant to England’s most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of the noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family’s secrets might win her liberty, but will her heart pay the price?
A boy dreams of revolution.
Abi’s brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution.
And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts.
He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate—or destroy?

I’ve seen what seems like hundreds of giveaways for this on Goodreads and it sounds really good, so I want to pick it up and give it a shot.

ADJFKDFJDFJWFKEJ IT’S FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG seriously you do not know how long I have been waiting for this book and it’s finally here. This series is one of my favorites of all time and I need this book but I also don’t want it to end.

Publishing Company: Balzer + Bray

Series Status: Standalone

SUMMARY:

Sixteen-year-old Starr lives in two worlds: the poor neighbourhood where she was born and raised and her posh high school in the suburbs. The uneasy balance between them is shattered when Starr is the only witness to the fatal shooting of her unarmed best friend, Khalil, by a police officer. Now what Starr says could destroy her community. It could also get her killed. Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, this is a powerful and gripping YA novel about one girl’s struggle for justice. Movie rights have been sold to Fox, with Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games) to star.

This book has been all around the book community and honestly I think everyone is counting down the days until it’s released so we can all get our hands on it.

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

Publishing Company: Feiwel and Friends

# of pages: 320

SUMMARY:

A 17-year-old pirate captain intentionally allows herself to get captured by enemy pirates in this thrilling YA adventure.
Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship.
More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.
Debut author Tricia Levenseller blends action, adventure, romance, and a little bit of magic into a thrilling YA pirate tale.

This just sounds interesting. I haven’t read many YA books centered around pirates and I really want to so this sounds like a good place to start.

That’s my anticipated releases, are any of yours the same? Did I forget one you are just dying to have? Let me know in the comments below because I’m always looking for more recommendations to end to the never ending TBR list.

Such amazing February Releases! I cannot wait for Gilded Cage, Daughter of the Pirate King or The Hate U Give!!!

I haven’t started the Darker Shades of Magic books yet, so it’s not high on my anticipated list, but I definitely need to start these books soon!
